Looking for an honest take on Last Frontier Dive in Siquijor? This is the dive centre where I did all my diving on the island in April 2026, and it left a real impression.

I have been diving since 2013, so I have seen a wide range of dive centres, from the ones focused mainly on getting you in the water to the ones that genuinely care about the whole experience. Last Frontier sits firmly in the second group.

I dived with them across two day dives and a night dive in San Juan. This is my honest take on the centre itself. For the sites and the marine life, I cover those separately in my Siquijor diving guide. Let’s dive in!

Overview

Last Frontier Dive is a boutique dive centre in San Juan, on the western side of Siquijor, right on the beachfront.

It is a PADI 5 Star Instructor Development Centre, a PADI Eco Center and a Green Fins member, and it keeps groups small, with a maximum of four divers per guide.

That combination tells you most of what you need to know. This is a small, standards-led operation built around personal attention rather than volume.

They also run boats out to the different dive sites rather than relying only on shore dives, and they schedule night dives regularly.

The Team and Culture

What makes a small dive centre work is the people, and Last Frontier has a friendly, genuinely international team.

During my dives, I was looked after by Ken, the owner; Joel, the manager; instructors Amber and Seb; divemaster Aian; and Chris, our boat captain.

The small team gives the centre a relaxed, personal feel, but without losing the professionalism you want from a dive operator.

Briefings were clear, nobody seemed rushed, and there was plenty of time to enjoy each dive at a comfortable pace. For divers who prefer smaller groups and a more personal experience over a busy, high-volume operation, this is a real plus.

The international team also makes the centre welcoming to divers from different backgrounds. One of my briefings was even conducted in French, which gives you an idea of the mix of nationalities you might encounter here.

Overall, the combination of a small team, clear communication and an unhurried approach was one of the things I appreciated most about diving with Last Frontier.

The Dive Operation

Here is how diving with Last Frontier actually runs.

Groups are capped at four divers per guide, and the boats take you out to the different sites around San Juan.

Boat rides are short. After one dive we were back at the centre in about five minutes to change tanks and take the surface interval.

The beachfront setting makes those intervals a pleasure. I used mine to rest and enjoy the beach-front view, and the team were happy for me to rinse my gear and leave it to dry at the centre at the end of the day.

The small-group approach is the whole point. With one guide and a handful of divers, buoyancy and reef contact are easy to manage, and you get real attention in the water.

I did two day dives and a night dive with them, and the night dive on the house reef was one of the better ones I have done anywhere.

By the way, there is a vegan-friendly café, Belle’s Beach Bar, on site as well, which is handy on a dive day.

Sustainability and Green Fins

Last Frontier is a Green Fins member and a PADI Eco Center, and during my dives, I could see those sustainability commitments in practice.

I paid particular attention to this throughout my time with them. Groups were kept small, briefings emphasised good buoyancy and avoiding reef contact, and the team consistently modelled responsible behaviour in the water. On Siquijor’s dense, close coral reefs, those details really matter.

It was great to see that sustainability wasn’t just something mentioned on their website, but something reflected in how they actually dive.

Booking and What to Expect

When you enquire, they will usually ask for your dates, certification level, last-dive date and what you would like to do, so have those ready.

If the night dive appeals, mention it early. Scheduling varies, and it is easy to miss if you leave it until you arrive.

Who Is Last Frontier Dive For?

Last Frontier is a good fit for divers who prefer small groups, personal attention and a dive centre with a strong focus on responsible diving. It is also a PADI 5-Star IDC Center, so you can take PADI courses here from beginner level through to professional training.

With a maximum of four divers per guide, it is particularly well suited to newer divers, solo travellers and anyone who prefers a more relaxed pace.

Macro lovers and underwater photographers should also appreciate having time to slow down and look closely at the reef.

As a solo diver, I found the small-group setup especially comfortable. I had plenty of attention when I needed it, without feeling fussed over.

If your priority is a large dive resort or diving specifically for big pelagic encounters, you may be looking for a different type of experience.

For thresher sharks, for example, Malapascua is known for a very different style of diving, which I cover in my Malapascua diving guide.

The Wrap Up: Last Frontier Dive

Last Frontier does the important things well: small groups, clear briefings, a team that clearly enjoys working together, and a genuine commitment to diving the reef responsibly.

After diving with them in Siquijor, I would happily book with them again.

If you’re planning to dive in San Juan, Last Frontier is a dive centre I highly recommend. Enjoy Siquijor, and safe travels!
